I hired RWD as a brand new business to run my website and Google Ads – my phone's always ringing and I constantly get compliments on the site. Brandon isn't just 'my website guy', he helped me scale to where I am today.

Testimonials

So much depends on reputation

What our customers say about us and our work

We worked closely with Brandon in his previous career. He was our main point of contact, and we loved how organized and on top of everything he was. As for our website, we were never satisfied with our GoDaddy Site Builder website. So when Brandon started RWD, it was a no-brainer to hire him. The website's fast, looks great, and we barely had to lift a finger to get it done. Definitely recommend RWD.

About us

How I started RWD

Hi, I'm Brandon Bennett, the guy behind Ramona Web Designs.

I grew up in Northeast Ohio with a typical middle-class Midwest upbringing. Seeking independence and adventure, I enlisted in the Marine Corps right out of high school to gain some time while figuring out my future.

After a deployment, some training exercises, and lots of hijinks, I was honorably discharged. Wanting to stay in Southern California, I got an apartment with a friend and started looking for a job.

I applied for everything, including sales, which I disliked. My second interview at an up-and-coming construction firm lasted about 30 seconds, but the owner took a chance and hired me as an assistant. The company was very old-school, relying mostly on pen and paper, so I began implementing free software to streamline their operations. The benefits were quickly apparent, and the system grew to encompass all departments, including databases and reporting.

I started wearing other hats as needed, becoming the unofficial ‘tech guy’ due to my knowledge of computers and printers. In this role, I oversaw two website overhauls, working with different web development agencies each time. I experienced firsthand the frustrations and costs associated with dealing with agencies.

Frustrated by the high hourly rates for editing (and 1 hour minimum for simple stuff like an address change), I taught myself WordPress through Google and online courses. After a decade with the company, I was ready for a change. With the birth of my second child, it was time to spend more time with my family.

I amicably left my position and started Ramona Web Designs, designing every facet of it to alleviate the headaches I knew all too well. I also decided to avoid using WordPress due to my past frustrations with it.

My aim is simple: to keep things affordable for any business to have a website, and to handle virtually all the workload, including content writing. I’d love to chat and see if we’re a good fit. Let’s start a good business relationship and get your website handled for you.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We get that all the time…

Do you have any discounts?

  • If you prepay for a whole year, you get 1 month free.

  • We sometimes run promotions - check our socials.

  • If you have a barter or something else in mind, it can't hurt to ask.

Why a subscription?

In our experience, most small businesses don't like paying in one big lump-sum. It's a major gamble, and even if the site and experience are both great, it's still a big hit financially. Our subscription is like a payment plan with no interest charges, with the added benefit of continued value and a relationship with us.

If you'd like the option for a lump-sum payment, we can provide a price quote. The starting price is $4,995, and hosting is $49/month.

How fast will my website be made?

Typical turnaround time for the rough draft is 1 week or less. The design is presented on a staging website so you can see it in an actual browser and not just in images. From there, we can publish it live as fast as you can provide any final requests and approve the design. If you need a website like yesterday, we can do that too with an Expedite fee.

Can you give a more detailed breakdown of the process?

  1. We have a quick phone or video chat to answer your questions, understand what you'd like, and confirm we're a good fit for each other.

  2. If you decide to move forward, we'll add you to our system (Hurdlr), and you'll get an email to add your card or bank ACH info for autopay via Stripe.

  3. The first month is charged immediately, and subsequent months are charged on the 1st.

  4. Unless you're keeping an existing domain with a current registrar, we'll purchase/transfer a domain for your website.

  5. We'll get to work and, unless we have questions, will send you the staging website link when the rough draft is ready (typically a week or less).

  6. We coordinate any final revisions.

  7. Upon your approval, we publish the site live.

  8. Let us know any time you have questions or a revision request, otherwise we'll complete other work such as creating/claiming business listings.

What happens if I pause or cancel?

We hate contracts too, and don't want to lock anyone into a plan if they don't like our work or services. That's why we have a simple policy on this.

  • Pauses: your website is replaced with a Parked Domain or Under Construction message for the remaining duration of your domain period.

  • Cancellations: your website is taken off the web and you start over from scratch.

What is the greatest comedy movie of all time?
